Coeburn ~ Alice Carr Richmond Counts, 85, died, January 10, 2007, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, Lihue, HI.
Born in Toms Creek, VA, she was a member of the Coeburn Methodist Church.She was formerly a member of the First Baptist Church of Coeburn, Coeburn Medical Center, Women's Club, PTA and Home Demonstration Club.She served as the Coeburn Correspondent for the Coalfield Progress for several years and was a member of the Wise County/Norton Democratic Women's Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Charles Counts; her parents, Minnie Culbertson Richmond and James Olin Richmond and an infant sister,
Francis Virginia; two sisters, Anne Addington and Margaret Nielsen.
She is survived by her daughter, Lin Allio and her husband, David, Lihue,
HI; two grandchildren, Michael of Anderson, SC and M. Linsay of Greenville,
SC; sister-in-law, Nita Bond of Coeburn.
Visitation services for Alice Counts will be held Sunday Jan. 14, 2007 after 12 noon at Estes Funeral Home and funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Ray Jones and Rev. Pete Perdue officiating. There will be a private burial at Greenwood Acres in Coeburn. The family requests that, instead of flowers, memorial donations be made to
the Wilcox Hospital Foundation, 3420 Kuhio Hwy, Lihue, HI 96766. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
