Allen Wayne Hale, 77, of Coeburn, VA  entered into rest Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Lakebridge in Johnson City, TN.  Born February 5, 1946, he was a son of the late Allen Bradley Hale and Ruba Hortense Sluss Willis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Karen Jordan; brothers, Roger Hale and Blaine Hale.

He leaves behind to cherish his memories his wife, Sharon Freeman Hale of the home; daughter,  Melissa Mitchell and husband, Beecher of Coeburn, VA; granddaughter, Heather Mitchell of Coeburn, VA; sister, Kathy Adams and husband, Doug of Coeburn, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Allen was an honorably discharged veteran of the US Air Force and retired as a Trackman with Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He loved watching all sports but he especially enjoyed football. He loved his family dearly.

The family would like to recognize Allen's caregivers, Mountain Home VA Hospital, Amedyis Home Health, Amedyis Hospice and Lakebridge for their excellent care.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023, 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Estes Funeral Home with services to follow in the funeral home chapel with Roger McCoy officiating and special singing by the McCoy Chapel Church.  Burial will be in the Hale-Rose Cemetery (13475 Crab Orchard Rd, Coeburn, VA) on Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 am. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the committal service.
