MARTINSVILLE, IN/COEBURN, VA

Amanda Jo Sykes age 33, passed away on Friday, November 12, 2021, at the IU Health Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

Amanda was born in Norton, VA on February 10, 1988. She was an avid animal lover that enjoyed the outdoors feeding the birds and watching the squirrels. She was a dedicated mother that loved her family. Amanda always took the time each day to call and check on them. Most of all she loved her daughter Jasmine and her special pet companion Chopper.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Orbin Rose, Sr., Roxanne Dean, Gerald Sykes, & Lucille Stanley; and a brother Jimmy Counts.

Amanda is survived by her daughter Jasmine Sykes; her parents Orbin Rose, Jr. and Melinda Sykes; her sister Melissa Adkins & husband David; niece Cassidy Adkins; stepfather Randy Farmer; along with several cousins aunt, uncles, and other loving family and friends to include aunts Linda Bryant, Betty Sykes, & Kathy Sigmon and special friend Sally Duty.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, from the Estes Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM with Pastor Willie Stanley officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamilton Town Cemetery. Estes Funeral Home of Coeburn is serving the Sykes Family.
