Anthony Carl Bates, 60, of Castlewood, VA, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Bristol Regional Medical Center surrounded by his daughters. He was born in Pulaski, VA on September 23, 1964.

Anthony worked as a mechanic most of his career. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to fish, and loved working on cars.

Anthony is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lee Rogers Bates; grandparents, Lola and James Bates, and Ruby and Detroit Rogers.

Left to cherish his memories is his father, Bobby Lee Bates of Coeburn, VA; daughters, Jennifer Hamel of Beverly Hills, FL, Brandi Bates of Honaker, VA, and Amber Bates of Castlewood, VA; grandson, Dawson Anthony Bates; brother, Matthew Bates of Kingsport, TN; sister, Karaneena Brickey of Coeburn, VA; nephews, Joshua Bates of Lebanon, VA, Teddy Brickey of Harrogate, TN, and Mikey Brickey of Clintwood, VA; several extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the chapel of Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm at Estes Funeral Home. Graveside will follow in the Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
