He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II.
Preceded in death by wife, Bernice Kern Strong, parents, John C. and Eliza Strong, son, Dennis Strong and sister, Laka Strong.
Survived by son's, Barry Strong, Lexington, VA and Jackie D. (Sam) Strong, Norton, VA; sister, Patrica Ann Robins, San Diego, CA; brother, Tommy Strong, Kittle Falls, WA.

Visitation will be held after 6:00 P.M. Tuesday July 8, 2008 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and funeral service will be at 7:00 PM with Rev. Marty Puckett officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Acres Memorial Gardens in Coeburn, VA on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA.
