Barbara Lynn Barker, 67, went to be with her mom, dad, and her Savior Jesus Christ on  August 22, 2023.

Barbara was born to Robert Lee Barker and Virginia Poindexter Barker November 11, 1955. She was born in Wallace Idaho and the family moved soon after to Coeburn, VA. Barbara graduated from Coeburn The Class of 1973. She worked as an accountant and bookkeeper in Coeburn until she decided to move to Greensboro, NC. She ended up working for Ralph Lauren in the Customer Contact Center even after moving back to Norton, VA until her passing.

Barbara was well loved by her team from Ralph Lauren. She spent her Sunday mornings feeding the homeless in Greensboro, NC on a street corner. The name of the group was called Good Table Pay It Forward.  This was always the High Light of her week, helping others.

She is preceded in death by her dad, Robert Lee Barker, a World War II Veteran; her mom, Virginia Poindexter Barker; her sister, Mary Emma Barker Parsons of Appalachia, VA.

Surviving is her brother, John Barker of Coeburn, VA; nephews, Jon Robert Barker, Hunter Jordan Barker, and Jimmy Parsons; nieces, Lindsey Nichole Barker Dixon, Stephanie Taylor and Jenny Parsons Beverly; her life long friend Joyce Payne who was like a sister and mom to her; Norman Payne who helped her and Joyce taking care of her; Debbie Sloce and her husband David and Mark Payne; close friends, Kenny Price, Earl Zayack, and her supervisor from Ralph Lauren Max Ettinger.

Barbara was laid to rest in Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.
