It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Betsy Carol Jones Dingus. Betsy, age 86, departed this life peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on October 10th, 2025. Betsy was born in the Cranes Nest section of Coeburn, VA on August 22nd, 1939, to the late Joseph Wheeler Jones and Lucy Lee Leonard Jones. She spent her entire life taking care of her family, who were her pride and joy. She was a previous member of the First Baptist Church of Coeburn, VA and Midway Church of Coeburn, VA.

In addition to her parents, Betsy was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Leonard Dingus, as well as her five brothers and four sisters.

Betsy is survived by her daughters, Lisa Dingus, Lynn Dingus, Kim Dingus Belcher (Sammy), and Michelle Dingus Altizer (David). She is also survived by six grandchildren, Amanda Roberts (Matthew), Garrett Baker, Tanner Altizer (Kylee), Ethan Altizer (Emma), Aidan Belcher, and Makenzie Altizer; three great-grandchildren, Evan Mullins, Sophie Roberts, and Brewer Altizer; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  A funeral service will follow with Pastor Kermit Evans officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 am to proceed to the cemetery.
