Betty Ann (Sluss) Mullins, 81, of Coeburn, VA, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her original homeplace on Jaybird Branch Rd. surrounded by her closest family and friends.

She leaves behind one daughter, JoAnna Hobbs and her husband Joey; one step grandson, Joey Hobbs, Jr and wife Tonya; three step great grandsons, Mikey Hobbs, Aidan Sexton and Gavin Clark; one sister, Frances Collins and husband, Don; special friends, April Kilgore and Connie Ramey; many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Beatrice Collins, Della Bone and Louise Sluss; two brothers, Rex Sluss and Baze Sluss.

Betty was an outdoors person who loved to hunt, fish and go camping. She loved being in nature. Her favorite thing was fishing at any time and in any weather.  Her last fishing adventure was only a month ago. She loved the thrill of catching them and out fishing everyone else. She made many friends around the lakes and streams and everyone knew her by her first name as a result.  She loved sports, especially baseball and NASCAR Racing. She also loved animals, especially her grand fur babies, Oreo, Jodi and Boston and loved babysitting them and spoiling them rotten. She had many friends and made friends easily because she was kind and helpful to anyone. She was a loving mother and a special friend to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 12:00-2:00PM Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at Estes Funeral Home with funeral services following in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mike Lawson officiating. committal services will follow at the Mullins Family Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.
