Betty Lou Mitchell Harvey, 88, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 3, 2023.

Betty was a devoted Christian. She always had a gentle prayer in her heart and a sweet song of praise on her lips. Betty was a faithful member of the Pine Camp Church of God of Prophecy in Coeburn, VA. She had the kindest, most loving heart, always thought of others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and sister who loved her family to no end. Her happiest times were spent with her treasured family. She was always present to cherish and celebrate her family's every moment, big and small, from weddings to graduations, to backyard cookouts. Her smiling face filled the room with a joy that would forever be irreplaceable.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Payton Harvey; Infant son, Larry Ray Harvey; two grandchildren, Angel Harvey and Nathaniel Jenkins; her parents, Olie and Dora Potter Mitchell; three brothers, Joe Mitchell, Avery Mitchell, and infant brother, Edward Lee Mitchell; two sisters, Ray Meade and Fay Rhea; and her daughter-in-law, Viola Harvey.

Betty is survived by her two sons, Jerry Harvey (special friend, Reba Beverly), and Jeff (Barbra) Harvey of Coeburn, VA; three daughters, Sandra (Danny) Mefford of Glade Spring, VA, Trish (Jerry) Barnette of Coeburn, VA, and Kim (Jimmy) Carpenter of Gray, TN; grandchildren, Joe (Brenda) Harvey ,Keith (Kelly) Harvey, Micah (Lori) Mefford, Alicia (Jeff) Jones, Joyce (Josh) Adkins, Jennifer Harvey, Steven (Savannah) Harvey, Destiny Harvey, and Jasmine Harvey; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;  her brother  Bob Mitchell (Mary) a special prayer warrior, Ralph Wells; and a dear friend and sister in Christ, Judy Harvey; as well as a host of family, friends, and a loving church family.

A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Pine Camp Church of God of Prophecy (4216 Halifax Rd, Coeburn, VA 24230)   The Funeral Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday July 6, 2023, with Pastors Curtis Bond, Danny Mefford, and Ralph Wells Jr. officiating.

Graveside committal will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 at Greenwood Acres Cemetery, Family and Friends will meet at Estes Funeral Home Friday at 10:30 am to go in pression to Greenwood Acres.

Pallbearers will be Steven Harvey, Joe Harvey, Keith Harvey, AJ Harvey, Mike Meade, and Brandon Stanley. Special music will be provided by Allen Skeens and Blood Bought.
