Betty Lou Large Pannell, aged 80, of Coeburn, VA, passed away on July 22, 2026, in Bristol, TN at Ballad Hospice House. Born to the late Russell and Bertha Large on September 6, 1945 in Coeburn, VA. Betty was a beloved member of her community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Forgy Ray Pannell, and her sister, Janice Johnson. Betty is survived by her son, Chris Pannell, and his wife Joy, along with three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her siblings, Naomi Jones, Roger Large, Jean Hill and her husband Roy, Bernice Hill, and George Large, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Betty was known for her love of gardening and flowers, and she cherished taking short trips with her family. She was also known for her immaculate housekeeping, always maintaining a spotless home.

Visitation will be Saturday July 25, 2026 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm at Estes Funeral Home of Coeburn, VA. Funeral services will follow visitation at 2pm with Pastor Carroll Childress officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.
