Bobby Ray McCowan– Coeburn

Bobby Ray McCowan, 61, of Coeburn, VA., passed away, Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Ballad Norton Community Hospital.

Bobby was born in Wise County, VA., on March 31, 1960, he was the son of the late; Bobby Joe and Clara (Sluss) McCowan.

He was a coal miner.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Eddie McCowan preceded him in death in August of 2021.

Surviving are his daughters; Brittney Scott and husband Paul, & Crystal McCowan; sons, Tanner McCowan and wife Brittanee,  & Jason McCowan; grandchildren, Mylee, Tucker, Riley,  & Raelynn; sisters; Donna McCowan, Judy Kilgore and husband Donnie, Frances Moore and husband Benny, Katie Meade and husband Jack, Phyllis Burke and husband Dennis; brother, Chad McCowan and wife Jessica; along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Ronnie Collins Jr. officiating.
