Coeburn, VA ~ Carlos Lee McClain, 80, died Monday, December 9, 2002 at St. Mary's Hospital in Norton, Virginia.
Mr. McClain was a retired coal miner of Clinchfield Coal Co., member of UMWA and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Lillie Mae Rose McClain.
Survivors include his wife, Edna McClain; 1 son, Ferriel McClain, Elizabethton, TN; 2 daughters, Rita Hurley, Honaker and Shelia Sanford, Montross, VA; 1 sister, Goldie Ann Deel, Nora, VA; special nephew, Jeff Hale, Wise; 4 Grandchildren, 1 Great Grandchild and several nephews and several nieces.

Funeral services for Carlos Lee McClain will be held Thurday, December 12, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John and Rev. Leon Lawson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hale-Rose Cemetery in Coeburn.Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Wednesday after 6:00 P.M. and a service will be held at 7 P.M. Military graveside services will be furnished by Pound V.F. W. Post 9600.
