Wise, VA ~ Carol Elaine Hughes Atwood, 77 died Monday, September 3, 2007 at Wellmount Lonesome Pine Hospital in Big Stone Gap Virginia with her family at her side.
She was the daughter of the late Asa and LilyHughes;also preceeded in death by brothers, Cecil, Virgil and Talmage Hughes; sister, Mona Tiller and her husband, Joe Atwood, Sr.
Survivors include one daughter, Denise Skeen, Bristol, TN; twosons, Doug Lambert, Winder, GA and Kevin Lambert, Williamsburg, VA; special friend, Judy Paige; 5 grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Coeburn United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary "Pete" Perdue officiating. Burial will be follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA. The family will receive friends at Estes Funeral Home Wednesday, September 5, 2007 after 6:00 P.M. Pallbearers will be nephews, Travis Tiller, Neil Tiller, Chris Hughes, Greg Hughes, Warren Hughes & grandson, Guthrie Skeen. Flowers or donation the the humane Society will be accepted.
