Carrie Belle Courtney Banks, 87, of Coeburn, VA passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Norton Community Hospital. She attended Cornerstone Church, where she was the Mother of the Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Wesley Banks, Sr.; parents, James Arthur and Mary Brown Courtney; a son, John Wesley Banks, Jr.

Survivors include children, Rev. James Banks, Michael Courtney, Samuel Courtney, Jessee Banks; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; sister, Hershel Nanette Roberts of Columbus, OH.

Visitation will be held after 5 pm on Monday, October 18, 2021 at Estes Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Kenny Mayberry and Rev. Detta Mayberry officiating. Procession will follow to Greenwood Memorial Acres for the committal.Curtis Bellamy, Chadwick Smith, Laymond Tompkins, John Courtney, Gabriel Merchant, and Jimmy "Pop" Hensley will serve as pallbearers.
