Coeburn, VA ~ Charles Edward Grimes, 88 passed away Thursday, December 14, 2011 at Abingdon Manor in Abingdon Virginia.
Hewas a retired forman for Westmoreland Coal Co., attended Banner Assembly of God Church and was a U.S Marine veteran of WW II.
He was the son of the late Robert D. Grimes and Bertha A. Robinette Grimes; , also preceeded in death by his wife, Mildred Hall Grimes, three sisters, Margaret Hazel Holbrook, Dorothy Virginia Ellis, and Aura Smith; two brothers, Ronald Grimes and Carl Grimes.
He is survived by OneBrother, David Grimes, Lynchburg, VA.

Funeral services for Charles Edward Grimes will be held on Friday December 16, 2011 7:30 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev, Glen Hammacker officiating. Visitation will be held Friday after 5:00 P.M. until funeral time at Estes Funeral Home. Burial will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday December 17, 2011 at Temple Hill Memorial Park. The family will meet at the funeral home and leave in procession to the cemetery. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
