Danny Ray Teasley, age 75, of Sandy Ridge, Virginia, passed away on September 2, 2026, suddenly with a heart attack, due from a long battle with black lung complications. He was born on February 1, 1951, in Wise, Virginia, and lived a life marked by faith, hard work, devotion to family.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Dorothy Teasley, his mother-in-law, Mary Nixon Plaster, his father-in-law, Smith Plaster, and his brothers, Leon Teasley and Paul Teasley. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Rebecca K Teasley, Shirley Teasley Adkins and Wanda Teasley Hughes.

Danny is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lilly Sue Plaster Teasley; his children, Jason and Rebecca Teasley Hicks and Brandy Teasley Hill; his grandchildren, Andrew Teasley, Elijah Hill, and Rylee Hicks; and his great-granddaughter, Addie Grace.

He is also survived by his siblings, James and Lucinda Teasley, Jack and Irene Teasley, Shelby and Harold Evans, Sue Meade, Lois and Harlan Ward, and Debby Teasley, along with a host of sister- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and beloved friends who will miss him dearly.

He enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life rich and meaningful, but nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Danny will be remembered as a man of faith, a hardworking coal miner, and a loving family man whose life reflected the values of courage, strength and devotion. 

Family will receive friends Friday, September 4, 2026 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. Funeral service wiil be at 3:00pm with Pastor Robert Ledford officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Acres Memorial Cemetery, Coeburn, VA. 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
