Darrel Grant Hollyfield, 38, of Coeburn, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Norton Community Hospital.

Darrel was a man who loved fiercely and lived passionately. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and is survived by his parents, Judy and Ernest Powers; his sisters, Dana Powers, Sabrina Powers, and Tiffany Russell (and her husband Rob); and his long-time girlfriend and life partner, Misty Long, who was the love of his life; a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

Darrel had a deep love for animals—especially his cats—and an even deeper love for Misty. He was an avid gamer, a true car and motorcycle enthusiast, and always happiest when he had a controller in his hand or the open road ahead of him. He loved spending time outdoors and never missed a chance to enjoy a good laugh with family and friends.

Darrel will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and the way he made everyone feel like they belonged. He leaves behind memories filled with love, laughter, and loyalty.

A Gathering Celebration of his life will be on Monday, June 23. 2025, at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
