Darrell Wayne Gibson, 62 of Coeburn, VA, entered into rest after an illness on November 4, 2023.  Born August 5, 1961, at St Mary's Hospital in Norton,  he was a son of Dolly Gibson and the late Hershell Gibson.  In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a son, Brandon Gibson; sisters, Vickie Rose and Peggy Wallace; and a brother, Keith Edward.

Darrell loved to tinker on about anything and was never still. He loved his family dearly. He was a true "jack of all trades" and there was nothing he couldn't fix or figure out how to do. He was truly one of a kind. He loved making others smile by telling little jokes. His daughter Amber Parrigan loved that most about him and will remember his funny stories most.

Surviving are his wife, Julia "Rosemary" Gibson; daughters, Telina Greear and husband, Justin of Coeburn, Amber Blevins and husband Terry of Coeburn, Amber Parrigan and husband Kenny of Norton and Sierra Hill; sons, Allen Rose and wife, Amanda of Swords Creek, and Jordan Hill of Coeburn; Mother, Dolly Gibson; sisters, Linda Williams and husband, Lonnie of Norton, Freida Rose and husband, Terry of Coeburn; Several grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Truth Fellowship Church in Norton at a later date. Memorial gathering at Pine Grove Baptist Church on Caney Ridge, will be November 18, 2023, at 1:00 p.m.
