Coeburn, VA ~ Darrell G. Hollyfield, 56, died Tuesday, August 6, 2002 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
Mr. Hollyfield was a retired coal miner of Clinchfield Coal Co. & a member of UMWA Distric #28.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Hollyfield.
Survivors include 4 sons, Tommy Hollyfield, Pikeville, KY, Brian Hollyfield Mitchell, Donnie Joe Hollyfield and Grant Hollyfield all of Coeburn; his mother & step-father, Roxie Payne Mitchell & Ival Mitchell both of Richlands, VA; 3 brothers, Troy Hollyfield, Coeburn, David Mitchell and Hurley Mitchell both of Knoxville, TN; a sister, Cleta Lane Mitchell, Richlands, VA; a granddaughter, Amanda Hollyfield, Pikeville, KY; 4 grandsons, Tommy Hollyfield, Jr., Pikeville, KY, Ryan Hollyfield, David Hollyfield and Daniel Hollyfield allof Coeburn; 3 nephews, Richard Hollyfield, Steve Hollyfield and David Hollyfield all of Coeburn, VA; a Special Aunt, Oma Hamilton, Coeburn and Several Cousins, aunts and uncles.


Funeral services for Darrell G. Hollyfield will be held Friday, August 9, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sammy Hall and Rev. Curt Bond. Burial will follow in the Edwards Cemetery in Coeburn.Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Thursday after 6:00 P.M.
