David Alden Pilkenton, 84, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2026, at his residence in Coeburn, VA with his family by his side. He was born July 21, 1941, in Wise County, a son to the late William and Nelly Pilkenton.

David served his county in the United States Army from 1961 through 1973 and served during the Vietnam War Conflict.

In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by wife of 63 years, Linda Pilkenton; daughter, Kimberly Pilkenton; grandson, Brandon Collins.

He is survived by four daughters, Angela Anderson, Pamela Page, Tammy Musick, and Tina Pilkenton (his baby girl), all from Coeburn, VA; sons, Mike and Cody Pilkenton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm with Military Honors at 6:00pm by the Local VFW and United Sates Army Honor Team.
