Coeburn, VA — David Arnold Sexton, age 73, passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Holston Valley Medical Center.

David was born in Tacoma and was the son of the late Marshall Sexton and Audrey Ward Sexton. He was one of thirteen children.

David enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mowing the yard. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings: Alonzo Sexton, Patricia Begley, Kathy Begley, Emma Gibson, and Shaylor Sexton.

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings: Shirley Gibson, Barbara Johnson, Sue Darnell, Richard Sexton and wife Ethel, Homer Sexton and wife Bonnie, Elsie Baker, and Elmer Sexton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Estes Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. for his visitation.  The Funeral service will follow with Jimmy Darnell officiating and Special Music will be provided by Jordan Mathes.

His committal service will be held on Tuesday, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sexton Family Cemetery (Flatwoods) those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
