Hewas retired employee ofHelen Coal Co. and a member of UMWA.
He was the son of the late Charlie "Tank" and Libbie Maebelle Porter; also perceeded in death by his wife, Reva(Bitner) Porter
Survivors include, Two Daughters, Marcia Watts, Ferguson, NC and Sharon Mullins, Pound, VA; TwoSons, James Porter, Lenoir, NC and Delbert Lee "Sonny" Porter, Coeburn, VA; FourSisters, Maebelle Balkcom, Chesapeake, VA, Lorreta Wiggs, Sulfolk, VA, Charlotte Salyers , St. Paul, VA and Pat Meade, Coeburn, VA; OneBrother, Ronald Porter, Coeburn, VA; Three Grandchildren,Tara Rasnick, Timothy Mullins and Christopher Porter,Three Great-Grandchildren,Catie Mullins, Matthew Rasnick and Aidan Mullins; Several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM. Friday, May 18, 2007 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Curtis Bond officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery in Coeburn, VA. The body will remain at the funeral home for visitation Thursday, May 17, 2007 after 6:00 PM. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA.
