Coeburn, VA ~ Dewey Mont Smith, 75, passed away Monday, March 29, 2004 at his residence in Coeburn, Virginia.
Mr. Smith was born in Superior, WV on Oct. 2, 1928 and was educated in the Wyoming and McDowell County Schools in West Virginia
He served in the U.S. Army engineers in the 1940's also during Korean War and Berlin Conflict.
Mr. Smith was a retired chief engineer of Bristol Reg. Med. Center and Appalachian Regional Hospitals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Daniel and Frankie Fadella Warren Smith; Brother, John P., Edgar D., Woodrow W., Frank W. Smith and Warren Smith;
Grandson, Dewey Dewayne Niece.
Survivors include his wife of many years, Lois Smith; two children, Eddie D. Smith and Karen Sue Sharp both of Princeton, WV; 1 grandson and 4 great grandchildren; several nephews and several nieces.
Visitation for Dewey Mont Smith will be held after 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and funeral services with Rev. E.D. Nelson and Rev. Allen Shupe officiating will be at 7:30 P.M. Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Thursday in Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Coeburn.
Pound VFW will furnish military graveside rites.
