"If I go or if I stay, I'm a winner either way!"

Dorothy Naomi Sifford Burke, 75, left this walk of life on Thursday, August 20, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. Through it all she kept her faith and trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and had since she become a christian when she was 15 or 16 years old. She would be the first to admit if she did something wrong and would always ask for forgiveness.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Bruce Willard Burke, Jr.; son. Denny Kevin Burke; parents, Clark and Pauline Keith Sifford; five brothers, Edward, Curley, Wilburn, Donald, and Gary Sifford.

Left to cherish her memories are two sons, Kenny Burke (Monica) of Coeburn, VA, and Dwayne Burke (Donna) of St. Paul, VA; daughter, Sharon Rose Burke (Phillip) of St. Paul, VA; fifteen grandchildren, Kevin Burke, Bryce Burke, Robin Witt, Ireland Burke, Isabella Burke, Jaxon Burke, Cheyenne Collins, Kaitlyn Burke, Dylan Burke, Naomi Burke, Austin Burke, Kaden Robinson, Kaxton Robinson, Kanstonce Burke, and Kaison Burke; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Jeffery Sifford (Tina) of St. Paul, VA; sisters, Shirley Cress (David) of Castalia, OH, Linda Altizer (Doug) of Bristol, VA, Gerri Greenwall (Steve) of Newark, IL, Joyce Burnette of St. Paul, VA, and Betty Swindle of Easley, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Estes Funeral Home of Coeburn, VA, with the funeral service following at 7:00pm with Brothers Jeffery Sifford and Dennis Scarberry officiating. Committal service will be Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 11:00am at Temple Hill Memorial Park in the Chapel of Love, Castlewood, VA. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery Chapel of Love for the services.

Pallbearers include, Bryce, Dylan, Austin Burke, Kaden and Kaxton Robinson, Matthew Sifford and Brad Porter.
