Dorothy Lynn Carter, 65, of Coeburn, VA entered into rest Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Lee County Community Hospital in Pennington Gap, VA. She was born July 24, 1958, in Norton, VA to Vernard and Judy Harvey.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her father, Vernard Harvey; grandmother, Millie Cole; brother, Kenneth Harvey; and significant other Bobby Mullins.

Left to cherish her memories: her mother, Judy Harvey; sons, James Carter and wife, Cindy of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Josh Carter and wife, Sam of Norton, VA; special daughter, Katie Chisenhall; brothers, Ray Harvey and wife, Sandra of Clintwood, VA, and Larry Harvey and wife, Cathy of Coeburn, VA; sisters, Rita Venable of Coeburn, VA and Jane Harvey of Lebanon, VA; grandchildren, Seth Carter and wife, Becca of Coeburn, VA, Jarod Carter of Coeburn, VA, Jaxon Carter of Norton, VA, Alexis Jessee and husband, Austin of Big Stone Gap, VA, and Blake Clark and wife, Sara of Big Stone Gap, VA; great-grandchildren, Oliver and Eileen Carter, Asher and Archer Jessee, and Easton Clark; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Ralph Wells officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.
