Dorothy Ann Ellis Lawson, 72, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025 at Pikeville Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 21, 1952, Dorothy was the beloved daughter of the late Worley and Jewel Ellis. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Her life was filled with compassion, warmth and an unwavering love for her family.

Dorothy was a life long resident of Coeburn, VA and a member of Mt. Olivet Church. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. Dorothy had a special way of making everyone feel loved and welcome, and her legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched.

She is survived by her loving husband, Ronnie Lawson; her daughters, Missy Ring (Neal) and Amy Bright (Kevin); three grandchildren, Tyler (Courtney), Ean, and Kyndall; two great grandchildren, Brooks and Bentley; she also leaves behind her sister, Kathy Sturgill of Roanoke, VA, along with many extended family members and close friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be 11:00 am -1:00 pm, Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at Estes Funeral Home with services to follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Johnny Adkins officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Acres Cemetery in Coeburn, VA.
