Edward Lewis McCowan Sr. "Eddiemac" age 56, of Coeburn Va. passed away Sunday, August 1st, 2021 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tn.

He is preceded in death by his father Bobby Joe McCowan of Castlewood, Va, Mother Clara
Ann McCowan of Coeburn Va.

He is survived by his children; his sons Mitchell McCowan of Wise, Va, Edward McCowan
Jr. of Big Stone Gap Va; his daughter Savannah McCowan of Big Stone Gap Va; his
Grandchildren Sophia McCowan, Mazalynn McCowan, Grayson Hobbs, Aria Burton; his
brothers Bobby Mccowan of Coeburn Va. Chad Mccowan of Castlewood Va; his sisters
Katie Meade of Coeburn, Va, Judy Kilgore of Coeburn Va, Phyllis Burke, Donna McCowan
of Coeburn Va, and Francis Moore of Coeburn, Va.

He is also survived by several nieces and nephews all of which he loved.

Edward McCowan was a US Army veteran, a coal miner and a welder. These were all titles he proudly
held, however, his favorite title was "Papaw". He was an avid outdoorsmen who enjoyed
fishing, kayaking, and finding peace in the woods.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 5th, 2021 at the Estes
Funeral Home Chapel, Coeburn, Virginia with Pastor Ronnie Collins Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Cemetery in Dickinson County, Virginia.
