Coeburn, VA ~ Effie Mae Robinette Brooks, 87, died Monday, March 26, 2001 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband Cedric "Ted"Brooks; parents, George Preston and Nannie Elizabeth Holbrook Robinette; 3 sisters Estelle Robinette, Alma Dickson and Sylvia Elswick; 4 brothers, Cecil Robinette, Rollie Robinette, Larsen Robinette & Calvin Robinette; a son-in-law, Aaron "Big A" Hall and a grandson, Aaron Steven Hall.
Survivors include daughters & sons-in-laws, Loretta B. Hall, Judy & Phillip Ison and Linda & Roger Yates all of Coeburn; 3 sons & daughters-in-law, Hershel "Buddy" & Glenna Brooks, Donald K. & Betty Brooks & W. Dale Brooks all of Coeburn; 1 sister, Fonda Hamm, McCordsville, IN; 2 brothers, Hansford Robinette, Coeburn and Landon Robinette, Norton; 4 grandsons, Hershel Ray Brooks, Jr., Kenneth Donald Brooks, Jr., Scott Allen Brooks and Phillip Brooks Ison all of Coeburn; 2 granddaughters, Deanna Pope & Melissa Yates both of Coeburn; 1 grandson-in-law, Robert Pope, Coeburn; Nancy Neeley (Special Friend) of Coeburn, VA; 4 Great Grandchildren, 1 Great-great Grandchild, several nephews & several nieces.
Funeral services for Effie Mae Brooks will be held Thursday, March 29, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Leon Lawson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood.Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Wednesday after 6:00 P.M. Grandsons & grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
