Coeburn, VA ~ Elbert Carson "Rusty" Bond Sr., 86, died Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia.
Mr. Bond Sr. was a retired merchant and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Ball Bond, his parents, James Nathan and Sally Ellen Stallard Bond; 3 brothers, Robert "Bob" Bond, James Bond and Glen Bond; a sister, Coetella Salyers.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Bond Perry, Coeburn; one son, Elbert Carson Bond, Jr., Schertz, TX; one brother, Ralph E. "Blacky" Bond, Hampton, TN; two sisters, Ruth Carbough, Coeburn and Audrey Pritchett, Sticklerville, NJ; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nephews and several nieces.

Visitation for Elbert Carson "Rusty" Bond Sr. will be held at Estes Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, January 30, 2003 after 6:00 P.M. where a funeral service will be held at 7:30 P.M. with Rev. Les Ritchie and Rev. Marty Puckett officiating. Burial will be in the Greear Cemetery in Coeburn on Friday at 11:00 A.M. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
