Coeburn, VA ~ Elsie Elizabeth Glover Hamilton, 94 passed away Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia. Elsie was born June 18, 1924 in Amanota, VA to William McKinley Glover and Hannah Ruth Glover. Elsie married Arlen 'Brownie' Hamilton. Her marriage lasted 60 years and they were surrogate parents to many nieces and nephews throughout their lifetime..Elsie loved to cook and spend time making cakes for her family and friends and she especially liked making fried apple pies for her nephew Brock Glover. Anyone that came to visit Elsie never left without a home cooked meal prepared for them. When times were hard and her husband (Arlen) was sick, Elsie went to work to keep her household running. She worked in the factory in St. Paul and Norton sewing for 8 hours a day.Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Glover, Arlen 'Brownie' Hamilton her loving husband of 60 years, her brothers Harold F. Glover, Claude R. Glover, Elbert F. Glover and Kelly P. Glover. Elsie is survived by sisters, Nell and husband, John Stewart of St. Paul, Jean Hall of Castlewood, Brenda and husband, Bob Jacobs of Myrtle Beach, SC and sister-in-law Darlene Glover of San Antonio Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Elsie Elizabeth Hamilton will be held after 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel until service time at 7:00 PM with Rev. Glen Hammacker and Pastor Christopher Barnett officiating. Burial will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Temple Hill Memorial Park Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
