Esta Faye (Pannell) Buchanan, 83, went home to be with Jesus Friday, December 13, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

Faye was a remarkable individual whose heart overflowed with kindness and compassion, uplifting her family with her unconditional love, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the rock that kept her family strong. She found comfort in Bible study and sharing stories of the past, especially those about her beloved siblings. Her memory will forever be a source of strength for us.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Wayne Buchanan; great-granddaughter, Natalie Grace Ratliff; her parents, Ernest Roy and Beulah Davis Pannell; three brothers, Hershel Pannell, Leon Pannell, and Forgy Pannell; four sisters, Dixie Clark, Dorothy Bise, Brenda Pannell, and Nina Overby and three nephews Bill Bise, Travis McCoy, and Mark Bise.

Survivors include her son, Terry (Darlene) Buchanan; three grandchildren, Julia (Nicholas) Balthis, Marissa (Hayden) Justus, and Hunter (Paige) Buchanan; three great-grandchildren, Lucas Balthis, Caden Balthis, and Macie Jo Justus; eight sisters, Judy Kimbler, Linda (Dudley) McCoy, Charlotte (Hassell) Dotson, Sandy Hillman, Susie (John) Thomas, Jackie (Wayne) Harrison, Betty (Jimmy) Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be officiated by Chris Holder and will be held at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, Virginia on December 17, 2024, at 7:00P.M. The family will accept friends from 5:00P.M. to 7:00P.M funeral following. Burial services will be held at Greenwood Acres Cemetery at 11:00A.M. in Coeburn, Virginia where Hunter Buchanan, Nicholas Balthis, Hayden Justus, Jason McConnell, Michael Harrison, and Chris Pannell will serve as pallbearers.
