Norton, Va. ~ Fannie G.Akers,67, died Tuesday, January 25, 2000 at her residence in Norton, Virginia.
Mrs. Akers was a lifelong resident of Fort Blackmore and Scott County but had lived Norton, Virginia for about 6 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Emmitte Akers, her Parents, Bill and Arlene Collins Guy, a Daughter, Carolyn Taylor and aSon, Benny (Bud) Akers.
She is survived by: 4 Daughters, Frances Robinette, Norton, VA, Candy Begley,Ft. Blackmore, VA, Cathy Dockery, Clinchport, VA, and Peggy Hensley, Gate City, VA;1 Son, Gary Akers, Dungannon, VA, 1 Sister, Bonnie Cook, Lebanon, VA;3 Brothers, Grover Collins, Ft. Blackmore, VA, Charles Guy, MI, and Willard Guy, Maryland; 22 Grandchildren,5 Great Grandchildren,several nephews,several nieces.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, 2000 at1:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel. Joe Dearry will be officiating.Burial will be in the Boatwright Cemetery in Fort Blackmore. Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Wednesday after 4:00 P.M. and on Thursday afternoon and evening.
