Garry Martin Barnette, 70, of Coeburn, VA entered into rest Tuesday, November 27, 2023 at his residence.  Born October 23, 1953, he was a son of the late Luther and Geneva Lawson Hughes Barnette. Garry was a retired coal miner and an avid outdoorsman. He was a licensed HAM Radio operator (KC4VT) and enjoyed talking with his Amateur Radio friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Edwards; brothers, Charles Barnette, Jimmy Barnette and Jackie Barnette.

Surviving are: His wife, Betty Barnette of the home; sons, Robert (Stacey) Barnette of Coeburn, VA and Brad (Brandi) Barnette of Coeburn, VA; brother, Ronald (Louise) Barnette of Coeburn, VA; sisters, Mary  (Jimmy) Stallard of St. Paul, VA and Carolyn (Larry) Coeburn of Coeburn of Norton, VA; grandchildren, Ethan Hayes, Logan Hayes, Connor Dingus, Elissa Mullins and Eli Mullins.

Funeral services will be private.
