Coeburn, VA ~ George Washington Alley, 91, died Saturday, May 20, 2000 at Heritage Hall Health Care Center in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
Mr. Alley was a retired coal miner and dairy farmer.
Survivors include: his wife, Edna Craiger Alley; 3 sons, James Alley, Hillsville, George T. Alley, Culpepper and Paul Alley, Bassett, VA; 5 daughters, Daisy Rose, Fieldale, VA, Alice Tiller, Davenport, Betty Horton, Galax, Helen Griffith, Ridgeway, VA and Nancy Hess, Bassett, VA; 4 step-sons, Roy Greear, Coeburn, Shelton Greear, Dickensonville, John McCoy and Dennis McCoy both of Bassett, VA; 29 Grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
Funeral services for George Washington Alley, will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2000 at 2:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. R.L. Crawford will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood. Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Monday after 5:00 P.M.
