George Rufus Harvey, age 74, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, January, 11th, 2021 at Norton Community Hospital.

George was a lifelong resident of Wise county and was retired from Paramount Coal Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Audrey Harvey; parents; Gordon & Vernie Gibson Harvey; son: Lelland McCoy; 3 brothers: E.L. Harvey, Ricky Harvey and Rodney Harvey; 1 sister: Kathy Freeman.

George is survived by 5 sons: Nathan Harvey, Ransom Harvey, Steven Harvey, John McCoy, and Danny Ray Harvey; 5 daughters; Patsy Harvey, Rosemary Harvey, Wilma Denise Harvey, Diane Harvey and Eva Ann McCoy; 1 grandson (Raised as Son): Brandon Artrip; 1 brother: Dallas Harvey; and 1 sister: Barbara Harvey.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

A funeral service will be conducted Thursday, January, 21st at Estes funeral home where family will receive friends at 11:00am with burial to follow at 1:00pm. in the Kilgore Cemetery, Banner Section of Coeburn, VA, with clergyman Darvil Woodruff officiating.

Estes Funeral Home will be serving the Harvey family.
