Coeburn, VA ~ Hazel Marie Maine Akers, 71, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005 at Lee Regional Medical Center in Pennington Gap, Virginia.
She had resided at the home of her daughter, Judy for the past 17 months.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Ruby Gibson Collins and her first husband, Ernest Maine; 11 brothers & sisters, 1 Great Grandchild.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Donnie and Becky Pickett, Pound, and Roger and Debbie Pickett, Coeburn; daughter and son-in-law, Rita and Billy Housewright, Churchill, TN, daughter, Judy Baker Collins, Jonesville and a special son; grandchildren, Chris, Regina, Amy, Joshua, Jamie, Chrissy, Nikki, Bradley and Casey; special caregivers, Sue and Vikki; 8 great grandchildren, several nephews, several nieces.

Funeral services for Hazel Marie Akers will be held Sunday, July 24, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Craiger and Rev. Ronnie Collins officiating, Burial will follow in the Greenwood Acres Memorial Gardens in Coeburn.Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday after 6:00 P.M.
