Helen Carol (McCoy) Bright, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Norton Community Hospital.

Carol was a loving daughter, wife, sister, mother, friend, and held a unique and special bond with her granddaughter. Her favorite pastimes were reading the bible, cooking, and playing cards with family. She was an extraordinarily hard worker, and lived her life dedicated to God. She never met a stranger, and never left a conversation without a "God Bless You" or "I love you."  Carol's generous spirit and compassion left an impression on all who knew her.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Harold J Bright; Father, Ballard McCoy; Mother, Audrey (Bond) McCoy.

She is survived by her daughter, Marsha Mefford, and husband Joseph of St. Paul, VA; Her granddaughter, Audrey Mullins, and husband Brad of Norton, VA; Sisters, Gail Robinson of Sandusky, OH, Roseanna Smith and husband Rocky of Coeburn, VA, Kay Lee and husband Bill of St. Paul, VA., Joan Collins of St. Paul, VA and Sherry Moore of Taylorsville, NC. Her brothers, Roger McCoy and wife Angela of Abingdon VA, and Greg McCoy and wife Shirley of St. Paul, VA; a special friend, Joanna Hobbs. Several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
