Coeburn, VA ~ Herald Leon Ward, 87 passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Ridgecrest Manor Nursing Home and Rehabilitation in Duffield Virginia.
Hewas a member of UMWA and a U.S. Navy veteran of the WW 2.
He was the son of the late Green and Mary Richardson Ward; also preceeded in death by his wife, Lola Mae Bond Ward, three sisters, Beatrice Simonds, Arizona Harkleroad and Viola N. Meade; five brothers, Corbett Ward, Hobert Nelson Ward, Howard Ward, Rev. Hasting Alexander Ward, and Hubert Frank Ward
one granddaughter, Loretha Ward.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Moore, Coeburn; three sons, Dennis Ward, Pennington Gap, Kyle Ward, and Dwight Ward, both of Coeburn; a sister, Sophia Parker, Kingsport, TN; 8 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Herald Ward was buried Monday, May 27, 2013 at the Ward Cemetery on Sandy Ridge in Coeburn.
