Coeburn, VA ~ James Sylvester Cook, 59 passed away Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia.
He was the son of the late James Henry Cook, also preceded in death by a grandson, Wesley Newman.
Survivors include his mother, Elsie Cook, Coeburn; a daughter, Christina Wilson, Coeburn; a sister, Dorothy N. Greear, Coeburn; a brother, Lester Cook, Montcalm, WV; his companion, Kitty Clark; two granddaughters, Konstence Brand and Ivy Brand, both of Coeburn; a grandson, T.J.Newman, Coeburn; two step-daughters, Tamara and Chasity Clark, both of Coeburn; a step-son, B.J. Clark, Coeburn; several family, friends, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for James Sylvester Cook will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. R. L. Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at the Harvey Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday after 5:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
