Coeburn, VA ~ James Harold "Hoot" Holbrook, 83 entered into eternal rest Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at his residence in Coeburn Virginia.
Mr. Holbrook was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II serving in Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded American Theater Service Medal, EAME Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Asiatic Pacific Theater Service Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, Good Conduct Medal and World War 2 Service Medal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Hazelton and Sally (Wright) Holbrook; wife, Marlene (Meade) Holbrook; Son, Kenneth Wayne Holbrook; Sisters, Irene Graham, Letha Greear and Beulah Graham; Brother, Kelly Ray Holbrook.
Survivors include Sons, Scott A. Holbrook and wife, Misty, Coeburn, VA andJames "Jim" Holbrook and wife, Ann, Temperance, MI; Sister, Norma Lee Stallard, Coeburn, VA; 5 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation for James Harold "Hoot" Holbrook will be held after 5 PM Saturday (June 10,226) at Estes Funeral Home Chapel and funeral service will be at 7:00 PM. with Rev. Joseph M. Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, VA on Sunday, June 11, 2006. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, Inc., 114 High Ave. NE, Coeburn, VA.
