James "Took" K. McCarty, 68, entered his heavenly home Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Cranes Nest Virginia. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and had the ability to operate any equipment.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Irene Austin McCarty; brothers, Fred McCarty, Sr. and Billie McCarty; nephews, Jackie McCarty, Jr., and Elbert Fred McCarty, Jr.; niece, Bridget Denise McCarty.

James is survived by his daughter, Rachel Revell (Mike) of Fort Meade, FL; grandchildren, Hannah Revell and Lane Revell of Fort Meade, FL; Sister, Mary A Clarke of Hubert, NC, brother, Jackie McCarty, Sr. (Kathy) of Coeburn, VA, Nancy Hillman (Danny) of Dungannon, VA, sister, Betty Burton (Jeff) of Coeburn, VA, brother, Dannie McCarty of Coeburn, VA, brother, Tommy McCarty (Jeanie) of Coeburn, VA, sister, Susie Powers (Lennie) of Pound, VA, sister-in-law, Shelia McCarty of Coeburn, VA; several nieces, and nephews; his fur babies, Sandy Snoot and Snert; and a host of extended family and friends.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. in Greenwood Acres, Coeburn, VA, with Pastor Robert Cantrell officiating.

Pallbearers will be Roy McCarty, Jeff Burton, Hunter McCarty, James McCarty, Danielle McCarty, and McKenzie Hillman.
