Jerry "Wayne" Burke, 64, entered into rest Thursday, February 12, 2026, at Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN. Wayne was born January 24, 1962, in Norton, VA to the late Jerry Eugene Burke and Charlotte Annalee Salyers.

Wayne was a heavy equipment operator and work in strip mining where he was known to be a hard worker and dedicated to his job. His passion and pass time hobby was his cars and motorcycles.

In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Libbie Porter, and Winfield and Julia Burke; sister, Virginia Salyers; and nephew, Kevin Lee Burke, Jr.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Chase Mayes and wife, Haley of St. Paul, VA, Chasity Mullins of Coeburn, VA, and Kasey Adams and husband, John of St. Paul, VA; siblings, Kevin Burke and wife, Christy of Wise, VA, Ronald Burke of Gray, TN, Janet Franks of Pound, VA, Michelle Winebarger of Elizabeth, IN, William Lunsford and wife, Emily of Castlewood, VA, Diane Hale and husband, Joe of Nora, VA, and Walter Salyers and wife, Michelle of Gate City, VA; grandchildren, Hudson, Logan, and Isaiah; several aunts, uncles, extended family and friends.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 15, 2026, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, VA. Funeral service will follow with John Britton officiating.

Entombment will be Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 11:00am in Temple Hill Memorial Park Chapel of Love. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
