Coeburn, VA ~ Joan Marie Owens Pennington, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee.
She was the daughter of the late John Allen Owens and Mary Elizabeth Blanton Owens. Also preceded in death by her husband, Erskine Pennington, a daughter, Patricia Ann Hamilton, and a son, Gregory Dean Pennington.
Survivors include three sons, Thomas Dale Pennington, Gary Ray Pennington, and Larry Wayne Pennington, all of Coeburn; two sisters, Shelby Shelton, Coeburn, and Mary Elizabeth Adams, Norton; a brother, Thomas Owens, Winterhaven, FL; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral services for Joan Marie Pennington will be held on Friday February 3, 2012 after 6:00 P.M. and funeral at 8:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Wilson officiating. Burial will be 12 Noon Saturday February 4, 2012 at Temple Hill Memorial Park.
