Coeburn, VA ~ Joe Ceafus (Oce) McConnell, 75 passed away Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton, Virginia
He was an Evangelist that loved the Lord with all of his heart.
He was the son of the late Joe McConnell and Lola Ellen McConnell; also preceded in death by a sister, Nedra June Reed; two brothers, Kermitt McConnell and Jay McConnell.
Survivors include his wife, Jedy Florence Hamilton McConnell, Coeburn; three daughters, Karen L. Sexton, Rebecca Milgrim, and Teresa Vanover, all of Coeburn; two sons, Jay T. McConnell and Jacob McConnell, both of Castlewood; four sisters, Barbara (Sue) Alley , Kingsport, TN, Patty Edwards, Denton, NC, Charlene Hampton and Darlene McConnell, Coeburn; five brothers, Kyle (Bud) McConnell, Guy (Sandy) McConnell, Billy Ray McConnell, and Eddie (Ed) McConnell all of Coeburn, and Lowell (Hoot) McConnell, Kingsport, TN; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Joe Ceafus (Oce) McConnell will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Millard Laney and Rev. R. L. Crawford officiating. Burial will be Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Temple Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Saturday after 6:00 P.M. until funeral time at Estes Funeral Home. The family will meet at 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home and leave in procession to the Cemetery. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
