Coeburn, VA ~ Johnny Elmer Adkins, 54 passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 at Norton Community Hospital in Norton, Virginia.
He was the son of the late William Jess Adkins and Mary Elizabeth Hale Adkins; also preceded in death by three sisters, Janice Marie Mullins, Sylvinia Loretta Jenkins and Martha Caroline Stapleton; two brothers, Thomas Edward Adkins and Jessie James Adkins.
He is survived by a daughter, Angel Adkins, Coeburn; two sons, Christopher Moore and Steven Moore, both of Coeburn; five sisters, Kathy 'Lois' Plaster, and Judy Yates both of Coeburn, Ruth Hamm, Hallsboro, NC, Melissa Culbertson, Appalachia, and Joyce Mullins, Clintwood; twobrothers, Marcus Adkins, Coeburn, and David Adkins, Nora; 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Johnny Elmer Adkins will be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 7:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Dearry officiating. Visitation will be held after 5:00 P.M. until funeral time at Estes Funeral Home. Burial will be Wednesday August 17, 2016 at Hale Cemetery. The family will meet at the funeral home at 2 PM and leave in procession to the cemetery. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
