Obituary

I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.

John 10:28-30

Joseph Christopher Freeman III was born September 19, 1954 and departed this life suddenly on May 26, 2022, in Cookeville, TN.

He was an employee of Hardees in Knoxville, TN for over 12 years. Joseph attended the Power of Praise Church in Morristown, TN. He was also known as "DJ Mr. Free" as he continued his love for music doing various charity events and Facebook live. He loved being a dad, but he loved being a grandfather even more and his face lit up with the mere mention of their names. He mixed the two things he loved the most which were his grandkids and music creating "The Singing Freemans" which he loved to promote.

Joseph was preceded in death by his two grandmothers, Granny Freeman and Dorothy Thomas Hill; parents, Geraldine Freeman (Bobby Mooney) and Joseph Freeman II; sister, Patricia "Penny" Little (Boyce); nephew, Harry Lee "Snapper" Thomas; uncles, Henry Thomas, Melvin Thomas, Norman Thomas, Garland Thomas and Harry Thomas; aunts, Janie Barron, Francis Thomas, Christine Watlington; cousins, Diane Barron and Wallace (Butch) Foster Jr.

Joseph is survived by sisters, Vera Banks and Stephanie Crawford; brother, Bernell Walton; daughters, Shameka (Charleston) Kyle and Shawnda Freeman- Kerchner (Tony); son, Josiah Freeman (Molly); five grandchildren, Amyia Freeman, Chayana Kyle, Tryniti Freeman, Judah Rubio and Ezra Rubio; special niece; Aunt, Joanne Foster; ex-wives, Anna Sullivan (Bob) and Renee Evans; ex daughter-in-law, Jasmine Blair; a special cousin who was more like a brother and best friend, Rob Mooney. He loved spending time with Rob and hanging out at the barber shop where he was affectionately known as "Cleezy." If you saw Rob best believe Joe was somewhere close; special friend, Jacky Wayne; a host of nieces, nephews and close friends too numerous to mention.
