Wise, VA ~ Joseph Wesley Hale, 87 passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton Virginia.
He was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend to so many. He loved music playing the guitar and was a NASCAR enthusiast. Former employee of General Trucking and a member of UMWA. He was a US Army veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Hale and mother, Carrie Beverly Hale Barnette.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Nancy (Adkins) Hale; daughter, Pamela Hale, and husband, James Kroll, New York, NY; son, Kenneth Wesley Hale and wife, Tammie, Coeburn; grandson, Brandon Hale and wife, Amanda, Mt Carmel, TN; granddaughter, Leeanna Hale, Lynchburg, VA; two great-granddaughters, Abby and Hannah; brothers, Robert Hale and wife, Ann, Norton, VA, Clayton Hale and wife, Bettie, Lake Wales, FL, Marvin Barnette, Wise, VA and Leon Barnette, Norton, VA; sisters, Anna Flannary, Bristol, VA; Alice Barnette, Bristol, TN and Rosa Gilliam, and husband, Danny, Bristol, VA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Joseph Wesley Hale will be held on Thursday July 13, 2017 at 7:00 PM at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Hill and Brandon Hale officiating. Burial will be 11 A.M. Friday, July 14, 2017 at Wise Cemetery, Wise, VA. Visitation will be held Thursday after 5:00 P.M. at Estes Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Central Freewill Baptist Church in Norton, VA. Arrangements by Estes Funeral Home, 114 High Ave., Coeburn, VA.
