Joseph Quinten "John" Baker— Coeburn, VA

Joseph Quinten "John" Baker, 63, of Coeburn, VA received his ultimate healing and entered into his eternal home on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.

John was a devoted husband, father, and pappy. His three girls gave him the greatest gift he ever received- his 7 "babies". They were the light of his life.

John is the son of the late Cecil "Pete" and Jeanette Baker; also proceeded in death by his infant brother, Alfred Baker.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Elsie Baker; three daughters, Misty Yates, Tesha Stallard, and Jasmine Finch; one brother, Danny Ray Laney; five sisters, Kathy Paragon, Jody (Bobby) Sherrill, Jennie (Tim) Mathes, Bonnie (Homer) Sexton, and Leatha Cochrane; six grandkids, Ethan Baker, Hannah Yates, Adyson Stallard, Easton Finch, Tatum Finch, and Quinnlee Finch; one great granddaughter, Penelope Baker; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive family and friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, with services to follow at Estes Funeral Home in Coeburn, Virginia, with Pastor Robbie Dockery officiating and special music provided by Timmy Craiger and Jordan Mathes. Burial will be on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at Sexton Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet by 12:30 p.m. for procession from the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tesha Stallard, Jasmine Finch, Ethan Baker, Adyson Stallard, Easton Finch, and Jordan Mathes. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Ray Laney, Homer Sexton, Bobby Sherrill, and Tim Mathes. A special thank you to Dr. Donovan Mabe and Amy at Pulmonary Associates in Norton, VA, and Dr. Sos, Amy, and Diedre at the Cancer Center in Norton, VA.
