Joseph "Joe" McCoy, age 74, passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2026.

Joseph was a loving fan of the Yankees and the Jets, as well as, any other sport that he could watch. Joseph was a hard working coal miner of 41 years.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Sherry L. Bartone McCoy, and his parents, Carless Meade, and Georgia McCoy.

He is survived by his daughter, Georgia McCoy Wellman (David); siblings and family, Roger McCoy (Molly), Molly "Corina" Chernisky (John), Ralph McCoy (Gera), Harold McCoy (Edith), Doug Keifer (Patricia), Johnny Jackson (Wendy), Jack "Jr." Jackson (Dee), Tiny Ann Hayes (David), Tony A. Bartone Jr., Jerod Bartone, Judy Hatfield (Terry); as well as a great host of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at McCoy Chapel Church on Brushy Ridge on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 11:00a.m. - 12:00p.m. with services following after.

Graveside service will follow in the McCoy Cemetery.

Family and close friends will be pallbearers.
