Palm Bay, FL ~ Joseph Ovide Saizan Jr., 79, died Thursday, August 16, 2001 at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, Florida.
Joe was born in Louisville, Ky., a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, having attained the rank of 2nd Lt. and a retired electrician of General Electric for 35 years. A member of Brevard Worship Center in Palm Bay, Fl, the Masonic Lodge, a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Ovide Saizan, Sr. and Lela Catherine Gabhart Saizan.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel Medford Holbrook Saizan; 2 Daughters & Sons-in-law, Kathy& Dr. David Bates, Newport Coast, CA and Tammie Jo & Rev. Mark Payton, Danville, KY; one sister, Betty Jarboe, Huntington, WV; 2 granddaughters, Trisha Love Saizan, Lexington, KY and Mary Ethel Payton, Danville, KY; 2 grandsons, Joseph Payton and Caleb Payton both of Danville, KY; 1 aunt, Ethel Cook, Coeburn, VA; 1 uncle, Edison Buchanan, Coeburn, VA; 3 sisters-in-law; Edith Vincent, Betty Falin and Nell Cox; 1 brother-in-law, Elton Holbrook;several nieces & nephews. A loving husband and father that truly loved the Lord.

Funeral services for Joseph Ovide Saizan, Jr. will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2001 at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Payton officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Memorial Gardens in Coeburn.Visitation will be held at Estes Funeral Home on Monday from 2 until 9 P. M. Military graveside rites will be preformed by Norton VFW Post #4301 and Wise DAV Chapter #56.
